Tattooist SHIRYU (Kwon Seongbeom) has made headlines after winning two awards at the New York Empire State Tattoo Expo, one of the most prestigious tattoo conventions in the world.

At the 2025 event held in New York City, SHIRYU was awarded 1st Place in Best Asian Influenced Tattoo and 2nd Place in Best Chest or Back Piece, achieving a remarkable double win and spotlighting the talent of Korean tattoo artists on the global stage.

With over 16 years of professional experience, SHIRYU is celebrated for his distinctive style in the neo-Japanese tattoo genre. In April this year, he concluded his practice in Korea and relocated to New York to expand his international presence. His bold and intricate designs continue to inspire tattoo artists around the world.

"I plan to continue working in New York and will also be participating in other major tattoo conventions across the U.S. and internationally," said SHIRYU.
