리야드, 사우디아라비아 2023년 12월 6일 /PRNewswire=연합뉴스/ -- Turkish Airlines(TK)와 Riyadh Air(RX)가 사우디아라비아와 터키 및 리야드와 이스탄불 중심지 외의 지역을 여행하는 관광객에게 포괄적인 혜택을 제공하고, 향후 더욱 긴밀한 협력을 위한 기반을 마련하기 위한 '전략적 협력 양해각서(Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding)' 체결에 합의했다. 이제 두 항공사 고객은 양사의 포괄적인 환승과 공동운항 협약을 통해 각 항공사의 전 세계 네트워크를 최대한 활용하게 됨으로써 Riyadh Air나 Turkish Airlines가 운항하는 구간을 원활하게 이용할 수 있게 됐다.

이번 협력으로 각 항공사의 로열티 프로그램 회원은 상대 항공사가 운항하는 공동운항 서비스를 이용할 때 포인트나 크레딧을 적립 받을 수 있다. 또 두 항공사는 양사의 글로벌 네트워크를 아우르는 광범위한 로열티 계약 개발 기회도 모색할 예정이다. 이번 MOU에 따라 Riyadh Air와 Turkish Airlines는 다양하고 포괄적인 고객 혜택을 제공하는 것 외에도 항공 관련 서비스, 화물, 디지털 개발과 같은 분야를 아우르는 가치 사슬 전반에 걸쳐 광범위한 시너지 효과와 효율성 제고를 모색하고 구현하기 위해 협력해 나갈 계획이다.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia Dec 4, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Turkish Airlines (TK) and Riyadh Air (RX) have agreed a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding to offer a comprehensive range of benefits for guests traveling between the Kingdom, Turkiye and points beyond their Riyadh and Istanbul hubs, as well as lay the ground for deeper future collaborations. Guests of both airlines will be able to take full advantage of each carrier's worldwide network through a comprehensive interline and codeshare agreement that will allow customers to seamlessly connect between and combine sectors operated by either Riyadh Air or Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines Chief Investment & Technology Officer, Levent Konukcu and Riyadh Air CEO, Tony Douglas, signed the agreement at a ceremony on the sidelines of the ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event (ICAN 2023) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The intention of both carriers is that benefits will be made available to guests as soon as possible after Riyadh Air launches operations in mid-2025 and is subject to regulatory approvals by relevant authorities.

The cooperation will allow members of each carrier's loyalty program to earn points or credits when traveling on codeshare services operated by the other, with both airlines also exploring opportunities to develop a broader loyalty agreement covering both global networks. In addition to offering a comprehensive range of guest benefits, the MoU also commits Riyadh Air and Turkish Airlines to work together to explore and implement broader synergies and efficiencies across the value chain, touching areas such as aviation related services, cargo and digital development.
