LS Electric wins $76 mn deal to power North American AI data centers

As the global artificial intelligence (AI) boom fuels demand for reliable power infrastructure, South Korea‘s LS Electric has secured a series of major contracts to supply electrical systems for AI data centers in North America, strengthening its foothold in the region’s rapidly expanding market.

The company announced Monday that it has won a $76 million contract to supply transformers for an AI data center power infrastructure project in the United States. The client company was not disclosed due to confidentiality agreements.

Under the deal, LS Electric will provide a full suite of power solutions, including distribution transformers, for a large-scale data center complex from next year through 2028. Since 2022, LS Electric has been supplying circuit breakers and other electrical equipment to the same client, building a steady track record of reliability.

“Through ongoing projects, we have earned high marks for both product quality and technical responsiveness,” an LS Electric spokesperson said. “We plan to strengthen our price competitiveness and meet the strict quality standards of large data center clients by working closely with partners and maintaining robust technical support.”

Earlier this month, LS Electric also signed a contract to supply switchgear and transformers for a data center being built in Tennessee. The company said the new project was awarded by a client that had already used LS Electric’s solutions, reflecting growing trust and forming a “virtuous cycle” of repeat business.

“This latest contract demonstrates that global data center operators recognize LS Electric’s technological capabilities and reliability,” the company added. “We will continue to explore new opportunities and expand our presence in the North American market, where demand for power infrastructure is surging due to the rapid spread of AI and cloud computing.”
